About Us
Tourism is one of Ireland's vital industries. Over 200,000 people work in the wider tourism and hospitality industry. Over 6 million overseas visitors are attracted annually, contributing €3.5 billion to the Irish economy. A further 8 million domestic trips generate €1.25 billion. When combined the tourism industry is close to being a €5 billion sector.
Who We Are
ITIC is the Irish Tourist Industry Confederation. The representative body of the Irish tourist industry, it works with Government Agencies, Tourist Boards, North and South, Tourism Ireland Limited, the EU, and other organisations whose activities impact on tourism.
In particular, the focus is on research, casemaking and influencing policies, which shape the future of Ireland's Tourist Industry.
ITIC’s case-making is based on a strong research programme, details of which will be found in this website. Our membership consists of almost 30 representative organisations, covering all sectors of Irish tourism – i.e. accommodation, access transport, internal transport, visitor attractions, incoming tour operators, ports and airports.
