The 'Industry Postcard' is an initiative started in October 2010 in conjunction with TTC - Tourism & Transport Consult, which anyone can receive along with our regular Ezines by simply signing up for our Email updates.

Each month our 'Postcard' will feature up to date news of what's happening in the industry at home and abroad.

We will provide occasional analysis of trends and other material that is relevant to the Irish tourist business, as well as featuring early identification of trends and exploitation of opportunities that will inevitably arise which will be critical.

Air travel tax always under review

Abolition of air travel tax is still an option if airlines put a realistic offer on the table, Minister for Transport Leo Varadkar said. The door is still open to discussions on the EUR3 tax, worth around EUR30 million a year, he said. Read the full article in the Irish Times.

Etihad considering further global opportunities

Etihad Airways posted a first annual profit and said it was mulling further purchases following an investment in Air Berlin, with Aer Lingus being monitored.
