Dublin Tourism - Member Profile
Dublin Tourism is an independent company established by Failte Ireland, Dublin City Council, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Fingal County Council and South Dublin County Council. Dublin Tourism’s focus is on the goals set out in their Regional Development Plan “Making it happen”, with the aim of delivering tourism growth within the region.
Underpinning this promise for tourism growth is a strategic partnership between Dublin Tourism and key stakeholders in tourism in the Dublin Region. Working with these partners, Dublin Tourism intends to continue to facilitate an integrated approach to tourism development in Dublin, providing leadership and support to the industry in product development, marketing, business development and visitor servicing.
Dublin Tourism’s strategic vision is:
‘Create ambassadors to promote Dublin as a must-visit destination’.
Strategic Goals
The strategic tourism goals for the Dublin Region are based on the vision outlined above, and are as follows:
To market and promote the entire Dublin Region as a world-class tourist destination for leisure and business travelers.
To develop and promote Dublin as a major business tourism destination.
To spread the economic benefits of tourism across all areas of the region.
To address weaknesses in the delivery of the visitor experience in Dublin.
To enhance the range of attractions and activities available, both for tourists and residents, by delivering innovative new products and experiences, including major events.
The rapid growth in environmental awareness, and the need to respond to the serious challenges that are emerging, place the environment at the top of the region’s tourism agenda. Dublin Tourism is committed to pursuing the objectives of Fáilte Ireland’s Environmental Action Plan 2007-2009.
Dublin Tourism operates a network of five Tourist Information and Booking offices around Dublin which are visited by over 1.5 million tourists each year. They also operate five visitor attractions.
