Guinness Storehouse - Member Profile

The Storehouse was originally built in 1904 to house the Guinness fermentation process. The building was constructed in the style of the Chicago school of architecture with massive steel beams providing the support for the structure of the building.

The fermentation process relocated in 1988 and the Storehouse opened in 2000 as a major new attraction on the Dublin tourism scene. In the few short years since then the Storehouse has become the largest single visitor attraction in Dublin. The building is home to the Guinness Company archive, which collects, preserves and makes accessible records and artefacts from the formation of Guinness. A visit to the Guinness retail store is not to be missed. The history of Guinness advertising since 1929 is fascinating and a must.

The Source Bar is an artistically designed bar where you can learn to pull your own pint of Guinness. Beside the Source is the Brewery Bar which is an informal and relaxing place to enjoy traditional Irish cuisine with traditional Irish recipes that use Guinness as a defining ingredient.

But the high point of a visit to the Storehouse is the seventh floor Gravity Bar where you receive your complimentary pint of Guinness beer. As you sip, relax and enjoy uninterrupted panoramic views of Dublin city from what is truly one of the most spectacular places to visit in Dublin.
