Irish Hotels Federation - Member Profile
Founded in 1937, the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) is the national organisation of the hotel and guesthouse industry in Ireland. The primary functions of the Federation are to promote and defend the interests of its members. The IHF represents almost 900 hotels and guesthouses nationwide, employing 54,000 people and is a key stakeholder in the Irish tourism sector.
The IHF has 12 branches throughout the country: Dublin, Cork, Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Mayo, Wicklow, South East, Sligo/Leitrim/North Roscommon, Shannon, Mourne/Boyne/Lakes and Midlands. The Federation is guided by a National Council, which is elected from these branches.
In November 2010, the Federation launched the 2011 Irelandhotels.com Guide, kick starting the Federation’s international marketing drive for 2011. The publication, formerly known as the Be Our Guest Guide, is now in its 24th edition and is renowned as Ireland’s largest accommodation listing, featuring hotels and guesthouses throughout the country.
The Irelandhotels.com brand now brings together the IHF’s main marketing channels, including a new-look accommodation website – Irelandhotels.com, a specially developed mobile App, an online version of the Guide and a dedicated Facebook page. The Irelandhotels.com website provides guests with instant access to the best deals and special offers across a wide range of properties backed up by a ‘Best Available’ room guarantee. It features three dedicated special break sections which provide exceptional value deals across hundreds of hotels and guesthouses.
