Irish Marine Federation - Member Profile

The Irish Marine Federation (IMF) / Irish Boat Rental Association (IBRA) is the national organisation representing both commercial and leisure sectors of the marine industry in Ireland.

The IMF is affiliated to IBEC, which provides the Secretariat from its Dublin office.

The Irish Boat Rental Association represents the 8 leading hire boat operators on the Shannon and Erne river systems and is an affiliate organisation of the Irish Marine Federation.

The primary aims of the Irish Marine Federation are to:

  • Promote the interests of all sectors of the marine industry and to encourage its growth and development.
  • Represent the interests of the industry to Government, State Agencies and European institutions, thereby influencing public policies.
  • Promote the image of the industry through quality awareness, public statements and the organisation of boat shows.
  • Provide advice, information and services to members in order to assist in achieving these objectives.

Membership of the Federation is open to all firms operating in the marine industry in Ireland, subject to the approval of the Council of the Federation.

Steve Conlon is the Research and Development Officer of the Irish Marine Federation and represents the Federation on the ITIC Council and Executive Committee.
