9 Reasons Why 9% Matters

The Irish Tourist Industry Confederation (ITIC) in its Pre-Budget submission highlighted to Government the need to retain competitiveness, invest in tourism infrastructure, and increase destination marketing budgets.

Tourism’s continued sustainable growth is predicated on a competitive industry and appropriate Government policies.  A key pillar of ITIC’s argument is the retention of the 9% tourism Vat rate which has been good for jobs and the exchequer, and puts the Irish tourism industry on a competitive footing with our European neighbours.
