Aviation Salvation – the critical importance of connectivity to Irish tourism

As an island nation Ireland is fundamentally dependent on air connectivity. This is particularly so for our tourism industry and the hundreds of thousands of jobs therein.

Aviation has suffered a dramatic collapse as a result of the pandemic but vaccination programme rollouts and scaleable testing regimes offer Ireland the opportunity to restore aviation in a safe and sustainable manner.

Government must embrace the industry’s plan for a resumption of air travel or risk leaving long term economic damage to the country. Check out an important bulletin from the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation which analyses the key decisions that Government must make, the flawed and disproportionate policy that is quarantine, Europe’s proposal to restart aviation, and how competitor countries are being far more proactive.
