Award-winning Lough Boora Discovery Park: Tourism and the Environment

Last year at the Irish Tourism Industry Awards Lough Boora Discovery Park, in County Offaly, were worthy winners of the Best Environmental Innovation. This former raised bog that covers 2,000 hectares in Ireland’s midlands has been developed by Bord na Mona, along with local stakeholders, into an attraction rich in nature, heritage and art.

ITIC caught up with Thomas Egan to hear how Lough Boora Discovery Park is going from strength to strength and now attracts 100,000 visitors per annum.
