Where are the opportunities for Ireland?

  • Irish tourism had another disappointing year in 2012, with Britain – the largest source market – again in decline.
  • While ‘GB Path to Growth‘, a report from the Tourism Recovery Taskforce, sets out a new marketing strategy with a goal of 5% annual recovery over the next 5 years, Ireland needs to look further afield for sustainable growth.
  • Here ITIC speaks with Noel Sweeney of TTC who looks at the opportunities further afield for returning Irish tourism to solid and sustained growth. ¬†As this is a huge challenge it cannot be covered in one interview, so we will return to the topic in the coming weeks.
