- Tourism is big business in Dublin, with close to 4 million overseas visitors expected this year, generating over €1 billion spend, and supporting just over 50,000 jobs.
- But Dublin wasn’t spared the fallout from the great recession, and although this year is expected to be the second consecutive year of growth, visitors, associated revenue and jobs numbers will still be short of where they were in 2007.
- ITIC recently commissioned a report called Capitalising on Dublin’s Potential, which was carried out by Tourism Development International, working with a Steering Group of stakeholders from the tourism sector, City and County Councils, and the business sector.
- Maurice Pratt chaired that Group, and he talks here with ITIC. Click on the image below to hear what he had to say.
