- Britain remains Ireland’s largest single market by far, producing 2.7 visitors in 2012, or 43% of total overseas visitors.
- But all has not been well, that’s about 1 million fewer visitors than five years earlier.
- A major review of the British market last year led to a new plan to reverse the recent trend called Path to Growth in Britain. ITIC spoke with Vanessa Markey, Tourism Ireland’s chief in Britain, to see how the new plan was being implemented and to get an indication of how recovery prospects are shaping up.
