The Irish Tourist Industry Confederation (ITIC) has just launched a new report on the importance and potential of tourism along the Western seaboard from Donegal to Cork.
Tourism in the West – An Engine for Growth & Jobs highlights the significance of tourism to the West which is valued annually at €2.6bn and employs 100,000 people. Despite growth in recent times there is significant further tourism potential to be realised for the West, and ITIC identifies a number of key recommendations including increased capital investment, marketing commitment, and industry leadership.
ITIC spoke with Noel Sweeney, co-author of the report, to hear more about its findings and recommendations.
