Year End Review 2013 & Outlook for 2014

The Irish Tourist Industry Confederation
(ITIC) is pleased to present our online
Year End Review 2013 & Outlook for 2014.

There can be something magic about round figures, so it’s special to report that Ireland came within a whisker of 7 million overseas visitors in 2013. Not quite back to the record levels achieved in 2007, but closing in on that. Record visitor numbers were achieved from the United States, Germany, France and Australia. And finally, growth has emerged from Ireland’s largest single source market, Britain. That perhaps is the single most significant outcome from 2013.

The Gathering did the business, and now it’s onwards and upwards.

All tourism predictions are qualified with caveats, but in looking to 2014 and beyond, there is cause for optimism.
