The importance of tour operator business to Ireland – ITIC talk with Rob Rankin, ITOA President

In a normal year Incoming Tour Operator Association (ITOA) member companies would deliver over 750,000 international high-spending visitors to Ireland’s shores. Sadly 2020, due to the Covid pandemic, has been very different.

ITIC caught up with ITOA President Rob Rankin to discuss the importance of ITOA business to Irish tourism, the need for an ongoing relationship with overseas trade partners, and the requirement for a strong funding mechanism to enable B2B businesses to survive this crisis.

In an honest and frank interview Rob talks of the value of ITOA connections with international markets and how planning for recovery gives the important sense of taking back control of the current situation.
