The upcoming Budget in October will be the first since the UK’s vote to exit the EU and thus Irish Government decisions on “tax and spend” issues are more important than ever.

This is very much the case when it comes to Irish tourism and the sector’s sustainable growth is predicated on a competitive industry and appropriate government policies and investment strategies.

The Irish Tourist Industry Confederation (ITIC) in its Pre-Budget Submission focuses on 3 main areas: Maintaining Competitiveness, Investing in Product Funding, and Increasing Spending on Marketing & Tourism Resources. These are vital policies to be implemented by Government so that Irish tourism can continue to prosper and grow jobs throughout the country.
