Dublin Airport Authority plc (daa) is the State-owned operator of Dublin and Cork Airports. The company is headquartered at Dublin Airport and directly employs 3,000 people. Group turnover in 2011 was €557 million.
More than 22.7 million passengers travelled through daa’s Irish airports in 2011 accounting for 96% of all air traffic into the Republic of Ireland. Dublin Airport handled 18.7 million passengers, Cork Airport 2.4 million, and Shannon Airport 1.6 million.
In 2011, 62 airlines operated from Dublin Airport to 171 destinations, 25 airlines operated from Cork Airport to 53 destinations and 16 airlines operated from Shannon Airport to 33 destinations.
Aer Rianta International (ARI), daa’s global retailing subsidiary, runs airport retail operations in 12 countries and employs more than 3,500 people in addition to holding strategic ownership in a number of airports.
ARI has retail operations in Ireland, North America, Russia, Ukraine, Middle East, India and China.
Since 2005, the daa has invested €1.6 billion at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports including new terminals at Dublin and Cork airports.
daa airports support an estimated 68,000 jobs in the Republic of Ireland.
